Bach Favourites Arranged For Solo Violoncello - Johann Sebastian Bach - Cello Peter Freyhan Edition Peters Cello Solo
Peter Freyhan has taken five works, mostly keyboard pieces, by J.S. Bachand arranged them for unaccompanied cello. Bach was himself an invetera te arranger of his own andother people's music, including Vivaldi violinconcertos which he arranged for harpsichord; the skill is in making the arrangements as believable as the originals. Freyhan does this with con sumate skill; for example, his arrangement of Jesu Joy of man's Desiringgives the impression of both the chorale melody and the obbligato being played simultaneously.
