Hagen Weise #150 Del Gesu Kreisler Model Violin Bubenreuth 2019

This violin was made by master luthier Hagen Weise. Weise has been active since 1991, when he commenced work for the Roderich Paesold Company in Bubenreuth, Germany. In 2004, Weise successfully completed his master violin-making examination. Since 2010, Weise has been dedicated to making fine instruments in his own workshop located in Baiersdorf, Germany. This instrument comes with a certificate of authenticity from the maker.

Bearing the label “Hagen Weise (signed) / Horheudorf, September 2019", this violin is based on Fritz Kreisler's Guarneri Del Gesu. The body measures 355mm along the back, 168mm across the upper bouts and 205mm across the lower bouts. The back is two-piece, made from highly flamed maple with a narrow curl, with matching ribs and scroll. The top is made of fine-grained spruce. The violin has gold-brown varnish, and rosewood fittings.

This violin has a warm, rich sound and is suited for solo performances and chamber music alike.
