Intermediate Cellos

Ready to take the next step in your playing? An intermediate cello is designed to help you move beyond the basics and truly start shaping your own sound. Compared to beginner instruments, these cellos are crafted from higher-quality, well-seasoned tonewoods, allowing for greater responsiveness, a wider dynamic range, and richer tonal colours. This gives developing players the tools they need to express themselves more musically and with greater confidence.

Our intermediate cello collection is one of the largest in Australia and is well suited to students working around AMEB Grades 4–7. With such a wide range of tonal characteristics, craftsmanship styles, and finishes, you’re sure to find a cello that suits your playing style, musical taste, and helps you discover your sound.

Intermediate players often prefer to curate their own outfit by choosing the cello, bow, and case that best suit their playing style.
