John Simmers Violin Brisbane 2021

John Simmers graduated with distinction, from the Newark School of Violin Making in 1996. He is a founding member and current treasurer of the Australian Violin Makers Association. John works with a high level of attention to detail and is devoted to exceptional standards of craftsmanship.

The violin is labelled 'John Simmers, Brisbane 2021'. The body measures 355mm along the back, 169mm across the upper bouts and 208mm across the lower bouts. The back of this violin is of one-piece, highly flamed maple, with matching ribs and scroll. The top is made from fine-grained spruce. It is finished with reddish-brown varnish and ebony fittings.

This violin has a powerful, rounded tone. It has lots of projection, clarity across all registers and is most suited to solo or chamber music performances.
