Violin - Hagen Weise #130 4/4 Guarneri
This violin was made in the workshop of master luthier Hagen Weise. Weise has been active since 1991 when he commenced work for the Roderisch Paesold Company in Bubenreuth, Germany. In 2004 Weise successfully completed his master violin-making examination. Since 2010 Weise has been dedicated to making fine instruments in his own workshop located in Baiersdorf, Germany. This instrument comes with a certificate from the maker.
The Hagen 130 has a two piece, moderately flamed maple back & the top is made from spruce. This instrument is based on a Guarneri violin model. This violin has a good cover of dark to golden brown varnish & has been lightly antiqued. The 130 has ebony fittings and a wittner tailpiece.
Overall this violin has a warm sound & good projection. This instrument has great resonance & a well-balanced sound. This instrument would be suitable for early tertiary study, and the advanced musician. This violin is currently fitted with Larsen ‘Il Cannone’ strings which add a touch of brightness & projection to the overall warmth of this instrument.
