In 1998,violinist Axel Strauss became the first German artist ever to wi n the Naumburg Violin Award. In the seasons since then, he has been acclaimed equally for his virtuosity and his musical sensitivity. Axel maintains a busy performance schedule and serves as Professor of Violin at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He performs on a treasured violinmade by J. F. Pressenda in Turin circa 1845, which is on extended loan through the generous efforts of The Stradivari Society in Chicago.
