This suite of pieces includes very easy parts for violins, violas, cellos and basses, so that even very new players can experience the fun of ensemble playing. As viola players are often in short supply, the two viola parts mostly double other instruments and are therefore optional, as is the double bass part. If viola players are available, the other instruments could be tacet in appropriate places.
