Nicolas Deroux VI06 Violin 4/4
This violin was handcrafted in China from two pieces of maple for the back and sides, and finely grained spruce for the top. The back has been moderately flamed, and has a very tight curl; the ribs and scroll have also been made to match. The violin has been fitted with an ebony chinrest and pegs, a Wittner tail-piece with built-in fine tuners, and has been finished with a red-brown varnish. It measures 356mm along the back, 168mm across the upper bouts, and 207mm across the lower bouts.
The Deroux VI06 possesses a full and warm character created by each note to ringing with overtones. The violin is overall very well-balanced across the upper and lower registers, and gives the player control over the sound they are creating. This instrument feels easy to play, and would be highly suited for players looking to complete their 4th grade to 6th grade exams.
