This instrument was handcrafted in China using two pieces of maple for the back, which are well-flamed with a medium curl, and matching ribs and scroll. The top is of a finely grained spruce, and the violin has been finished with an amber-brown varnish. The violin is fitted with an ebony chinrest and pegs, and has a Wittner tailpiece with built-in fine tuners. It measures 356mm in length, 168mm across the upper bouts, and 206mm across the lower bouts.

The Deroux VI05 projects a sweet character that is rounded and well balanced across both the high and low registers. The violin offers depth and complexity in each note, and projects well in the practice room. It is extremely comfortable to play, allowing aspiring violinists to work with the instrument to continue developing their technique and draw the full tone out of the instrument. This violin would be suitable for players looking to complete 4th grade through to 6th grade.
