Hagen Weise #150 Del Gesu Kreisler Model Violin Bubenreuth 2019

This violin was made by master Luthier Hagen Weise. Weise has been active since 1991 when he commenced work for the Roderisch Paesold Company in Bubenreuth, Germany. In 2004 Weise successfully completed his master violin-making examination. Since 2010 Weise has been dedicated to making fine instruments in his own workshop located in Bubenreuth, Germany.

This instrument is labelled " Hagen Weise G. del Gesu "Kreisler" / Möhrendorf, September 2019" and is based on a del Gesu model. The body measures 356mm along the back, 167mm across the upper bouts and 206mm across the lower bouts. It has a two-piece back of highly flamed maple with a narrow curl, and the ribs and scroll have been chosen to match the back. The top is a fine-grained spruce which broadens to the bouts, and the violin is finished with rosewood fittings. It has an antiqued gold-brown varnish, and is in good condition. 

This violin has a warm, rich sound and is suited for solo performances and chamber music alike.
