3/4 Scrollavezza & Zanre Atelier Violin Pressenda model Parma 2024 with Certificate

This violin was made by Elisa Scrollavezza and Andrea Zanrè in 2024 in Parma. Elisa Scrollavezza and Andrea Zanrè opened their own workshop in Parma during 2002. They specialize in not only making high-quality instruments but also restoration, historical research and acoustics. Elisa and Andrea both teach at the Renato Scrollavezza School of Violin Making in Parma. Elisa’s father, Renato Scrollavezza was one of the most highly respected modern Italian luthiers and was the curator of Paganini’s violin the Guarneri del Gesu nicknamed ‘Il Cannone.’ Elisa and Andrea have won numerous awards at various national competitions over the years and attended advanced making classes internationally. This instrument comes with a certificate of authenticity and photos from the makers.

This violin is labelled "ATELIER / SCROLLAVEZZA & ZANRÈ / PARMA, ANNO 2024 / Mod. "GUARNERI DEL GESU"" and is as such based on a Guarneri model. The body measures 333mm along the back, 157mm across the upper bouts and 195mm across the lower bouts. The back is one-piece of highly flamed slab cut maple with a medium curl, and the violin well-matched matching ribs and scroll The top is a finely grained spruce of uneven growth, the varnish is amber-gold, and the pegs and tailpiece are of ebony.  

This violin has a warm sound and is best suited for chamber and orchestral playing. It possess a rounded, broad tone, especially for its size, and an element of sweetness.
