Iotti & Vibe 'Fiducia' Violin Parma 2024

This violin was made by luthiers Agnete Vibe and Pietro Iotti in 2024 in their workshop in Parma, Italy. These two young makers graduated from the Parma School of Violin Making in 2019 after studying under Renato Scrollavezza, Andrea Zanrè, Frédéric Noharet, and Michele Dobner. They specialise in making both modern and antique style instruments, often modelling them after prolific makers such as Guadagnini, Sgarabotto, and Ornati. This instrument comes with a certificate of authenticity and photos from the maker.

This violin is labelled "Iotti & Vibe 2024 / Parma 'Fiducia' / Pietro Iotti / Agnete Vibe". The body measures 353mm along the back, 164mm across the upper bouts and 203mm across the lower bouts. It has a highly flamed, one-piece back of maple, with a narrow curl, and matching ribs and scroll. The top is of a finely-grained spruce. The violin has been highly antiqued and finished with an amber-brown varnish and has boxwood tailpiece and pegs.

This violin has a vibrant sound, characterised by the depth and clarity that it projects across all registers. It has a full and even tone, that would be most suited to solo or chamber playing at a tertiary level or higher. The instrument is highly responsive under the fingers and has a plethora of tone colours readily available to suit any style of playing.
