Cello - Nicolas Deroux VI05 (Instrument Only), 4/4

This wonderful instrument was handcrafted in China using two-pieces of maple for the back and is moderately flamed with a narrow curl and matching sides. The top is made of a finely grained spruce. This instrument is fitted with a belgian bridge, and a tailpiece with built-in fine tuners. This cello has an amber red-brown varnish, and measures 763mm in length, 340mm along the upper bout, 435mm across the lower bout. 

The Deroux VI05 has an incredibly versatile sound with a particularly clean tone in the upper register, and a rich, complex tone in the lower register, allowing players to explore a wide spectrum of colours in their performances. Overall, this cello has a strong and direct character that sparkles no matter the dynamic, and offers an easy playability and quick response, even when using more challenging techniques. This beautiful instrument would be suitable for solo or chamber playing, and perform well across all playing styles. It would be ideal for players looking to complete an AMEB Diploma, or considering HSC or tertiary study.
